What is Super Buddy Curio?

Super Buddy Curio is a screen-free storytelling device, designed to spark a child's creativity and imagination. It is preloaded with hundreds of stories, rhymes and lullabies to help build your child's cognitive skills. Curio’s kid-friendly design encourages children to explore and discover content independently, at their own pace.

For whom is Super Buddy designed?

Super Buddy Curio is suitable for children ages 3 and above. We offer a wide range of engaging content, from rhymes and lullabies to stories across multiple genres. Our aim is to promote independent learning and decision-making, and improve early listening skills. Super Buddy Curio also helps improve pronunciation and comprehension, and expand a child’s vocabulary. It stimulates curiosity and creative thinking; instils good values and habits via moral/learning.

Does Super Buddy Curio need an internet connection?

No. Super Buddy Curio doesn't need an internet connection to play the preloaded content.

Can headphones be connected to Super Buddy Curio?

Yes. Super Buddy has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, so you can plug in your headphones and go on an audio adventure anytime, anywhere. The Super Buddy headphones are volume-limiting to protect little ears. However, if you choose regular headphones, we recommend maintaining the volume at 50% for your child’s safety.

Can Super Buddy Curio be used to stream music?

Yes, Super Buddy Curio also functions like a regular speaker. Just connect it via Bluetooth to your smartphone/laptop/tablet and play as you please.

Is Super Buddy Curio waterproof?

No, Super Buddy Curio is not waterproof. Please use a soft cloth to clean the product. Do not spray with/immerse in water directly or other liquids as it could damage the product. Be sure to disconnect the charging cable before cleaning. We also recommend avoiding direct sunlight and extreme heat/cold conditions.

How long does the battery last?

Super Buddy Curio can deliver continuous playtime of 18-20 hours at 70% volume.

How does the recording feature work on Super Buddy Curio?

Long press the record button (denoted by the microphone icon) to start recording. Short press the same button to stop recording. The last recorded track will automatically start to playback as soon as the recording stops. To delete the recorded track, double press the record button.

What kind of content is preloaded on Super Buddy?

Super Buddy’s content is planned across varied age groups – 3-5 years; 5-8 years. For a detailed track list, refer to the content guide listing.

Super Buddy Curio (Brave Dino & Magical Unicorn models); Ages 5-8 years: Includes classic fairy tales, folk tales & Jataka tales; India’s royal legends, freedom fighters & mythologies; popular rhymes, lullabies & fun songs.

Super Buddy Curio x Peppa Pig; Ages 3-5 years: An audio collection of stories, music, special effects and a full cast of familiar voices from every kid’s favourite show. Includes all episodes (Season 1-9).

TECHNICAL

Why is my Super Buddy Curio not powering on? 

Make sure your Super Buddy is charged. If it doesn't turn on even after a full charge, connect the device to your laptop/desktop. You should be able to see the contents of the memory card. If the card is blank/empty, it has gotten corrupted. In this case, you will need a new card with pre-set content. Why does Super Buddy Curio have no sound when the power is on?

Rotate the Power On/Off knob clockwise to increase the volume. Connect the device to your laptop/desktop. Make sure the SD card folder names are as specified (RHYM_1 / RHYM_2 / RHYM_3 / RHYM_4 / STOR_1 /STOR_2 / STOR_3 / STOR_4 / SLP_1 / SLP_2 / SLP_3).

What are the functions of the Power On and Resume buttons? 

Super Buddy Curio is coded with a unique Power On and Resume feature. This means it can remember where your content stopped the last time it was switched off, and will continue playing from the same folder and track when turned back on.

Why am I not able to record a new file?

Make sure the SD card has enough space for a new recording. Super Buddy Curio will display a voice message saying, “memory full” if there it is out of space. You can free up space by deleting specific recording files directly. Double press the record button while playing a recorded track to delete the same. As each track is deleted, you will hear a voice message saying, "file deleted". You can also free up disk space by connecting Super Buddy Curio to your laptop/desktop and deleting previously recorded files from the respective folder.

In what order or sequence are the Stories/ Rhymes/ Lullabies played?

Pre-installed content will play in the same order in which, it was copied onto the TF card.

Can the content on Super Buddy be upgraded?

Yes. You can update content directly to your memory card. Follow the content upgrade process for more information.

Will I need AA or AAA cell batteries?

None of the above will be needed. Super Buddy Curio comes with rechargeable Li-ion batteries.

Does the Super Buddy Curio have an auto switch-off function?

Yes. Super Buddy Curio will automatically turn off after 60 minutes of being inactive (i.e. no interaction via button presses). After turning off the power, be sure to turn off the power button and then turn it on the power again.
